Introducing Artists Series - This Issue: Los Angeles Artist Betty Decter

Living in Los Angeles, we have access to many great art galleries to feed our art cravings and curiosity.  The gallery system provides a wonderful education resource, and yet we all know that there many great artists "out there" that are still unknown, un-represented, un-hung, and just not available in the traditional ways of the "gallery".  So where are they? And what are they creating now? And how can I see their fabulous art? Believe it or not, many of them are trying their best to simply get seen, and WANT your attention!!!  My goal is to introduce artists I have discovered through my collection of friends and acquaintances within the periphery of the current art world and bring them to you! Look for yourself and enter their world.  Connect with them if you like their work. And of course feel free to give me feedback if you'd like!

This time, I'm introducing  Los Angeles Artist Betty Decter. Here is her statement, links to her work, and a few images.

Big WOW and Welcome to "JUICY ART BYTES".

To introduce myself my name is Karalee Miracle and I am a painter/art consultant/former art gallery owner/ designer/ decorator/writer/film consultant/UN consultant for Maasai tribe/and a 70's rock-musical HAIR alumni. In 2006 I worked in Europe archiving world-class art for museums and galleries. I am going to turn you onto what's up in the world of art in our City of the Angels. There is art everywhere....can you imagine a world without art? There are literally hundreds of thousands of known artists in museums and galleries, but our journey is to discover the artist's in Los Angeles (and maybe nationally) where the artist's have chained themselves to their easels and are not "known" (love the image of chains!... ART SLAVES!)  Some of these artist's are going to come out of their closets, even if we have to kidnap them!

Not a question.  Now that Summer has surpassed Spring who doesn’t love driving along Fountain to ogle the shirtless joggers any day of the week?  A favorite pastime of mine fuels my desire to travel to the best beach in SoCal:  West Street Beach in Laguna Beach.

Drag your jaded brain of yours out of bed, pack a light overnight bag (just in case) and head south.  Best route-  East on the 10> south on the 110> South on the 405> south on the 73 toll road> exit at Jamboree (no toll)> west to PCH> and south to the be-otch.

As one of the first five questions during an initial meeting, why not light up while answering “Where do you work out?”

After sampling many, many, many of the gyms in and around LA I have found that LA Fitness on Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood in the former location of the Galaxy Movie Theater complex is superior to most.  First of all, it’s gigantic!  Some might say cavernous.  Some.  It has just about everything.  Seriously.
